Peace, happiness and confidence - by grace - arising inside us all. What we know from Christmas, Stephen Hawking writes about as a physicist in his book, A Brief History of Time, “...when a body moves, or a force acts, it affects the curvature of space and time – and in turn the structure of space-time affects the way in which bodies move and forces act. Space and time not only affect but are also affected by everything that happens in the universe.”

We of First church give Mother Earth and its inhabitants energies of peace and healing. The year begins with the season of Epiphany. The stories start with the visit of three pilgrims coming out of the rising sun to lay gifts at Jesus cradle. The New Year teases us into wanting to give ourselves in new ways to life. An "Epiphany" is a revelatory manifestation of God. Our experience of God's revealing grace can be a sudden, spiritual flash that changes how we view things. For us as a community, looking at property swaps, interim space and a new building shared in a new way with the community, nothing could be a grander blessing than this season of light, signs and wonders.

January 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Parlor re-convened Ad. Council and time to
review the work of the Building Team.

  • January 7 at 9:30 a.m. in Room 23 again to review building proposals.
  • January 7 at 1:00 p.m.. Members of the Micah Project were successful in
    having First Church chosen as the site for a Town Hall forum on the Iraq
    War.
  • January 8 - 9:30 a.m. Worship with Revels and at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary
    for Church Conference to act on proposals.

  • January 18 - 6:30 Regular Annual Church Conference and Administrative
